We Create Engaging Experiences
Founded in 2020, Phaser Cat Games is dedicated to bringing new games to not just modern PCs, but also the classic computers and game consoles of yesteryear.
Focusing on titles inspired by the games of the past, Phaser Cat seeks to revive types of gaming that have been left behind by today’s game developers. Whether on a modern gaming PC or a 1980s game console, Phaser Cat respects its customers and makes every effort to avoid software practices that provide no, or even negative value to the player. You won’t find annoying start-up logo screens or unskippable cut-scenes here! The Phaser Cat is on your side.
Ryan Witmer has been a professional software developer since 2007 and has worked in a variety of industries and environments. He has had a love for game development ever since first learning to code in BASIC on his Apple II computer in the mid-1980s.
While serving as a computer systems specialist in the US Marine Corps, Ryan began teaching himself the basics of game development on modern PCs and has been growing his skill set ever since. After being discharged he earned a degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Fredonia and began applying his new technical knowledge to his game work.
Ryan eventually became interested in game development for classic game consoles and has had new titles for the Atari 5200 published by AtariAge.
